EMI’s UK chief to resign

Tony Wadsworth is stepping down as chairman and chief executive of EMI’s UK division just days before Terra Firma, the struggling music company’s new private equity owner, is expected to announce a radical restructuring plan. His departure appeared to signal an increasing role for Roger Ames, who already runs EMI’s North American operations, and will now oversee scouting and artist development, or A&R, in the UK and Ireland.
